Cyber Security for the Public Sector II

Cybercrime poses multiple threats to public sector bodies

In January this year, the UK Government announced that £210m is being made available for a new Cyber Action Plan, with the aim of improving minimum cybersecurity standards and providing what’s described as “more hands-on support” to minimize the impact of cyber incidents when they do happen.

Central to this is the newly announced Government Cyber Unit – part of the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology and led by the Government Chief Information Security Officer - to coordinate risk management and incident response across departments.

Carefully designed for local authorities, this session provides support and resources to help local government organisations improve their cyber defenses and response strategies as well as offering a glimpse into the latest trends and their implications, revealing how organisations can prepare for emerging threats and ensure resilience against an increasingly sophisticated cybercrime ecosystem.
